2010 DEMONSTRATIONS, PRIVATE TUITION & TUTORING ART GROUPS
WATERCOLOUR & ATELIER INTERACTIVE ACRYLICS

New for 2010, as well as WATERCOLOUR, Mariana will be devoting some of her classes to using ATELIER INTERACTIVE. These new style Acrylic paints made by Chroma of Austalia have completely transformed acrylic painting. Group tuition in the form of hands-on workshops or by demonstrations within her usual subject range, can be given to Art Clubs and Societies within a 60 mile radius of Monmouth/Chepstow. Essentially the England/Wales border or M4/M5 corridor and South Gloucestershire. She is also available for private tuition at her studio, (especially valuable for beginners).

Talks & Demonstrations for 2010 will include "An Introduction to Abstract Painting" which shows audiences the main ingredients necessary for succeeding in Abstract painting and a talk about how abstract has found its place as a genre. A favourite talk and demo is "Tropical Flower Painting" which draws on Mariana's wealth of knowledge on tropical flower and landscape subjects, together with interesting anecdotes from her travels. This is a bright, cheerful demo to snap you out of using dull colours! Landscape techniques in Watercolour or Atelier Interactive Acrylics is a popular subject within the heading "Light in Landscapes". If choosing Atelier for this demo, then part of the demonstration will introduce artists to the versatile mediums which make Interactive Acrylics so different and helpful.

Mariana is a Professional Associate of the SAA (Society for All Artists), Promotor and Demonstator of Atelier Interactive Acrylics and a member of the Artist & Illustrator Magazine's list of Professional Art Demonstrators.

1.   STUDIO GROUPS - Tutoring a Private Group + Studio Hire

This will be held at my studio in St. Briavels and will include demonstrations and work on a particular topic of the group's choice. Around 6 hours e.g. 10.00am - 4.00pm. This is a tailor-made day of tuition suitable for small groups of artists, holiday-makers, friends etc. Date and content to be discussed in advance. Maximum of 5 students. Watercolour Tuition only for groups..

Price: £375 per day

Green Package - 3 or 4 Students travelling in one car - £90 each per day

2.   PRIVATE TUITION

One-to-one teaching to help you get started or improve aspects of your painting.Specific techniques taught alongside demos, discussions and exercises. Courses are planned according to an individual's needs and experience. Should two friends wish to come along together, the price would be £90 each per day. Watercolour or Atelier Interactive.

Half Day (3 hours) - £60 per person
Full Day (6 hours) - £100 per person

3.   FULL DAY WORKSHOP

By far the most popular and cost-effective method for Art Societies and Groups where all are paying towards the overall cost. Demonstrations, work on specific topics, group and individual tuition. E.g. 10.00 through to 4.00 (6 hours). Maximum: 20 students. Watercolour Techniques only.

£220 per day + light lunch to be provided by group + travel costs.

4.   TALK AND DEMONSTRATION

Mariana is available to give talks and demonstrations to Art Societies and Other Groups, e.g. W.I., Garden Clubs, Rotary, etc. This will take the form of a presentation and demonstration to larger numbers. This is not an inter-active session. Expected duration around 2-3 hours. See top of page for subject range which can either be in Watercolour or Atelier Interactive - but not both!!

£140 + travelling costs

In the case of 1-3 above, students are expected to provide their own art materials and paper/canvas. Mariana will usually have a small supply of SAA artist quality watercolour paints, Atelier Interactive Starter sets, Clearwell ochres and her greetings cards available for purchase.
