Cath Hopkins has been working with clay since retiring from teaching due to becoming profoundly deaf. Her Ellwood Pottery range is inspired by the natural landscape of the Royal Forest of Dean, the tidal patterns of the Severn River and the natural beauty of the Wye Valley. These surroundings provide her with endless subtle colours, shape and textures as seen in her designs, "Evergreen", "Oak" and "Blue Wave". Hand-crafted Ellwood Pottery by Cath Hopkins is now available through The Mariana-Art Gallery at St. Briavels. ~~~613~987~~

COURSES 2010 BROCHURE
The 2010 one-day workshops include a beginner's course in Atelier Interactive Acrylics, plenty of one-day watercolour workshops and a Three-Day Masterclass in Watercolour. Workshops are designed for any level of ability although absolute beginners (never held a brush since they were five!), should endeavour to have a one-day or half-day private tuition session to get a feel for watercolour first. 2010 workshops are listed on the Courses & Holidays section of this website. You can book online but because of demand, it would be wise to phone or email to check your place before paying over the internet. Workshops are held at the studio in St. Briavels which is light, airy and a relaxing place to learn. If you would like a copy of my 2010 brochure please telephone, write or email me. You can book courses on-line straight away. Don't forget one-day and two-day workshops make great Christmas and Birthday presents.Mariana also teaches one-to-one tailor made tuition days. Private tuition is especially valuable for disabled painters or for those who find it difficult to come along to painting workshops. .
